What to Expect on Moving Day

A full-service home move runs smoothly when everyone knows the plan. Here is how a typical day with The Squad Movers goes.

1. Arrival and walkthrough. The crew arrives at the time we agreed, walks through your home with you, and confirms what is moving and what needs extra care.
2. Protection and prep. We protect floors, doorways and banisters, wrap furniture, and take apart beds, tables and wall units that need to come apart. Assembly and disassembly carry no extra charge.
3. Loading. Heavy and bulky items go in first, with boxes and fragile items packed in so nothing shifts in transit.
4. Transport and unloading. At the new home we place furniture where you want it and reassemble anything we took apart.

How to Prepare Your Home

A little preparation saves time, and time is what you pay for on an hourly move. Pack boxes before the crew arrives or ask us to pack for you through our packing and unpacking service. Keep walkways, driveways and stairs clear, especially in winter (see our winter moving guide). Set aside valuables, documents and daily essentials to carry yourself, and let us know about pianos, safes, glass or other heavy or fragile items in advance so we can plan the crew and equipment.
